Hello! This is my tenth year teaching 5th grade at Mountain View. Before 5th grade, I taught 3rd and 6th grades. I even dabbled a bit in teaching preschool at a private Montessori school. Fifth grade is my favorite! I enjoy the rich (and often hysterical)conversations I share with my students.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Boise State University (go Broncos!) I graduated from Lesley University with my Master’s Degree in curriculum and instruction,integrating arts across the curriculum.
I love teaching all subjects, but I have a passion for science and art! In 2012 I was one of 3 teachers from the district selected to attend the Mikelson ExonMobil Teachers Academy in Houston. I spent a week working with and learning from amazing teachers from all over the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
Since attending the academy, I am honored to spend three days each summer meeting with all of the Idaho academy honorees at what we’ve titled, “The McCall Leadership Conference”. We share science, technology, engineering,and math ideas. Representatives from the National Science Teachers Association have joined us. We are also honored to share this time with Barbara Morgan! I have presented at the National Science Teacher Association national conference in Chicago as well as locally at the Idaho Science Teacher Association conference.
My husband and I have shared 19 years together and we have three busy boys! Carsen is in 11th grade this year. Jenson is eight-years-old and in 3rd grade! My "baby",Bennett, is 6 and is the boss of the house! He gets to start first grade this year. We enjoy spending time together traveling, reading, and laughing!
I consider teaching my calling, and can HONESTLY say I look forward to everyday with my students! I am so proud to be a part of their journies and love learning from them!
